Let Go & Let God: Dealing with Past Experiences to Reach a Better You.

Learning how to let go and let God is probably one of the hardest things to accomplish. I am dealing with applying this to my life currently. When you love someone, watching them spiral down a path of destruction is extremely hard. Which is why it is important to meditate on the fact that God’s plan will be, despite any outside interference….it will always turn out the way it should.

It is crazy how many people go throughout life covering up there insecurities and hurt with superficial things of the world. To others this person may seem the happiest, in love, and successful…but deep down that person is hurting. Simply going throughout life doing everything in their power to avoid vulnerability. I have watched someone that I love dearly turn into a person that I cannot recognize anymore. This person used to be so happy, compassionate to others feelings, and selfless when it came to helping others. Now all I see is a person running from love in all aspects of life. Love from God and love for himself. Although I want to continue to say anything or do anything in my power to help, I know this will be a lost cause. The only person that can open the eyes of an individual like this is God.

Arrogant and careless behavior stems from the origin….or in other words the home life. If you grew up lacking proper love, or not recieving love in a way that seems adequate to the common person this will show in future relationships. That person will continue to dwell in a relationship with someone that lacks so much but has the one thing that they never recieved as a child…..security. Security with love and protection. Seeking that reassurance at a level higher than normal is an example of over compensation. A person like this usually finds theirself in a relationship with someone that is okay to be ran over, okay to buy love, and someone that disregards their own needs to please that person. Rather than finding a person that is equally as strong and capable of making each other feel loved properly……a person that had a rocky origin feels content with someone that is mentally and emotionally weaker. That way they will never have to render that portion of love which is vulnerability.

Unfailing love is usually first experienced when looking at a mother and child relationship. The mother’s role is to care for the well-being and nurturing of a child. If the mother is not present this will leave the child to seek this type of unfailing love from someone else. This often turns into an overbearing type of love. A love that a girlfriend cannot give. When a person that has these tendencies experiences a break-up their reaction is 20 times worse than the common reaction which is: Break up, cry, move on or break up, cry, and figure out a way to work it out. This may take longer for some, but for a person that lacks this type of nurture immediately shuts off the emotion of love and anything that has to do with vulnerability. When experiencing love, you have to experience vulnerability. Without one, you cannot have the other.

It is important to deal with past issues that were emotionally damaging and being in denial will not help the situation but only make it worse. Making steps will only help you reach a better you.
